The Town of Bassendean welcomes the joint commitment from the re-elected Albanese and Cook Labor Governments to invest a combined $5.2 million in the redevelopment of Jubilee Reserve in Eden Hill. Combined with the Town’s own $2 million contribution, the promised investment will transform Jubilee Reserve into a multi-use sporting hub and ensure it remains an important community space for generations to come.
Jubilee Reserve is one of the most popular sporting grounds in the Town, home to a variety of sporting codes including soccer, football, cricket and little athletics. As community demand continues to grow, particularly with the rise in female participation in sport, the redevelopment will transform Jubilee Reserve into a flexible, multi-use sporting hub. The upgraded facilities will provide modern, shared, and accessible amenities for current and future user groups, local clubs, and the wider community.
Key upgrades in this project include:
- Refurbishment of the Stan Moses Pavilion, including all-abilities access to the upstairs clubroom and viewing areas, additional storage, and an improved undercover viewing space.
- New community meeting and activity spaces to support local groups and events.
- Upgraded public toilet facilities.
- New unisex changerooms to accommodate increasing female participation in sport.
- Extension and refurbishment of the Caledonian Soccer Club clubrooms, including two additional unisex changerooms.
- Improved parking facilities and access points to reduce impact on surrounding residents.
Town of Bassendean Mayor Kathryn Hamilton welcomed the investment, highlighting the importance of strong advocacy and collaboration in securing funding for major community projects.
“This investment is a testament to the power of advocacy and the importance of all levels of government working together to deliver real benefits to our community. The redevelopment of Jubilee Reserve is more than an upgrade of sporting facilities as it will create more inclusive and accessible spaces for all the community to enjoy. The Town thanks WA Member for Bassendean, Dave Kelly MLA, and Federal Member for Hasluck, Tania Lawrence MP, for their support of this important project.”
This funding commitment is a direct result of the Town of Bassendean’s ongoing advocacy efforts. In addition to the Jubilee Reserve redevelopment, the Town has successfully secured promises of government support for two other key priorities: residential development at 1 Park Lane, and $500,000 in funding to progress the next planning phase of the Bassendean Oval Redevelopment.
The Town of Bassendean thanks the Federal and State Governments for their support and looks forward to working with local clubs, stakeholders, and the community to bring these transformative projects to life.
