The Town of Bassendean has issued incorrect email rates notices to a small number of property owners. This arose due to a database glitch, meaning incorrect notices were issued to 30 properties, which represents approximately 3 percent of the properties registered for eRates.

The Town has written to all impacted property owners and promptly issued the correct notices.

The Town understands the privacy concerns this issue may raise. The Town is conducting an assessment to determine whether there is a requirement to notify the Information Commissioner, and will keep you updated on our progress.

While the error is disappointing, a prompt response by the community has allowed to us to quickly rectify the issue. The Town sincerely apologises for the error and any inconvenience caused.
