Message from the Mayor

Following a rigorous nationwide recruitment process that attracted a
large and competitive field of excellent calibre applicants; I am delighted
to announce that Mr Cameron Woods will soon join the Town of
Bassendean as our new CEO after unanimous Council support for his
appointment at the recent Special Council Meeting held on the 9th of
January.

As a well respected innovative leader and accomplished CEO with a
wealth of experience in multi-faceted environments, Cameron has a
track record of delivering superior outcomes and services to the
community. Cameron holds a Bachelor of Applied Science, and he is a
Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Cameron has had an extensive career working within the Local
Government sector with demonstrated successes in economic
development, place making, and the delivery of significant community
events and commercially viable projects that not only generated
vibrancy, but also garnered multiple Awards providing state and national
recognition.

His experiences as a CEO leading the Shire of Exmouth and more
recently the Shire of Plantagenet during periods of significant change
and growth, coupled with his proven track record of delivering key
community outcomes are just some of the many strengths he brings to
our Town.

Cameron has executive level competencies that are extensive, where
his demonstrated passion for economic development and activation
coupled with effective community engagement are an ideal fit for the
Town of Bassendean as we embark on an exciting new chapter to
deliver the community’s vision for our Town.
