FOGO Compost: Transforming Waste into a Community Resource
Soil Improver – All Purpose Dig-It-In Compost is now available!
This high-quality compost is created from food and garden organics collected in the Town of Bassendean’s lime-green-lidded FOGO bins. Certified to Australian Standards, FOGO Compost is ideal for a variety of garden applications and will be available throughout the year.
Where to Access FOGO Compost
- Waste Education Stalls at Bassendean Markets – 29 March, and 25 May 2025
- Plants to Residents Collection Days – June 2025
- Verge Rebate Program – Launching April/May 2025
Residents can also collect free bags of compost (limit of two bags per resident, per event) through local community groups participating in distribution events. These groups use the initiative as a fundraising opportunity, with the Town providing $2 per bag to participating groups.
