The Town of Bassendean is excited to announce we’ve recruited two new full-time Rangers to join our team, allowing us to extend our Ranger Service offering from five to seven days a week.
In 2024, the Town partnered with City of Bayswater to trial a collaborative approach to the delivery of Ranger Services outside of standard business hours and during busy periods.
The Town thanks City of Bayswater for their support during this period, and while this arrangement has now ended, we will continue to have a close working relationship with the City moving forward, supporting each other on an as-needs basis.
In addition to our Senior Ranger Richard, the Town has recently welcomed Darrell and Simone to the team. Together the team now has over 20 years of collective experience in the field.
From 1 May, the Ranger team’s new operating hours will be as follows:
- Monday to Friday: 7am-6pm
- Saturday: 8am-5pm
- Sunday: 8am-4.30pm
- Public holidays: 8am-5pm
The team is looking forward to working with the community on road safety and parking issues, reducing litter and illegal dumping, and assisting with animal control and pet registration.
You might have noticed the rangers have also updated their look, with the team now sporting the Bassendean heritage green.
While the team, uniform and hours might be new, don’t worry, you can still contact the Rangers via phone at 9377 7480 or by emailing [email protected]
The Ranger Service remains available every day of the year, with the exception of Good Friday and Christmas Day.
For urgent matters occurring after hours, including dog attacks, wandering dogs, or serious hazards (e.g. fallen trees on roads, hazardous parking), please contact WA Police.
For non-urgent matters that arise after hours, please call the Town of Bassendean Ranger Service, and leave a message to receive a response during business hours.
