Celebrate 12 Years of ‘Keen on Halloween’!

The Town of Bassendean is thrilled to announce that 2024 marks the 12th year of the beloved ‘Keen on Halloween’ initiative! This engaging program encourages families to explore their local neighbourhoods and connect with fellow community members during the Halloween festivities.

Developed with the aim of fostering a welcoming atmosphere for local kids and their parents, ‘Keen on Halloween’ helps ensure that trick-or-treaters feel comfortable and invited as they visit participating households.

To get involved, your household can sign up on the Keen on Halloween website, indicating your willingness to welcome trick-or-treaters. These friendly homes will be highlighted on an online map, making it easy for families to plan their spooky outings.

You can also decorate your letterbox or yard for the night to let your neighbourhood know that you are open for ‘trick or treating.’ If you do, be sure to enter our competition—the best three decorated letterboxes or yards in the Town will win a $250 voucher for local businesses. To enter, decorate and submit photos of your handiwork online before 4 November 2024.
