Introduction to the Noongar Language, with Dylan Collard NEW DATE

Saturday 30th November 2024

Join us for an introductory workshop about the Noongar language.

Dylan’s lesson will provide participants with a brief understanding of the Noongar language context and the importance of language revitalisation efforts. Participants will learn to introduce themselves and greet one another, as well as some other basics of the language.

Dylan is a Wadjak and Balardong Noongar and currently runs his own business, Kalyakoorl, delivering programs for community, schools, and other organisations. His aim is to ensure Noongar language continues into the future - forever. He has a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Arts (UWA) and Master of Teaching (Deakin). He’s also a qualified Noongar language teacher.

Dylan’s journey into teaching Noongar language commenced in 2017, fueled by a passion for language revitalisation and the pursuit of self-determination through the preservation of Noongar language.

As testament to his dedication and impact in the field of education, Dylan was honored with the 2023 NAIDOC Perth Education Award.
