Appreciate Your Local Bush Patch
Past Event
Do you drive past your local bush reserve? Have you ever stopped to think why it has been preserved? On your daily walk with the dog do you wish you knew more about the flowers and plant species in your local bush patch? Join Steve McCabe on an expedition around Bindaring Park, where every trail leads to a new discovery and every tree tells a story. With a deep-rooted passion for environmental stewardship and a wealth of knowledge in bushland management, Steve is your trusted companion on this immersive bushwalk experience.
As you meander along winding bush paths, Steve will share fascinating stories about the plants and creatures around you. Steve will also discuss how your local bushland patch would have fit into the traditional round of seasonal resource use across the Swan Coastal Plain. You will never look at the bush the same way again! But this workshop is more than just a nature walk; it's an opportunity to reconnect with the land and foster a deeper appreciation for the natural world. Through guided observations, you'll develop a new-found sense of wonder and respect for the intricate web of life that surrounds us. You'll also find out about local groups who look after the bushland and opportunities to get involved. Join us as we embark on a journey of discovery, and together, let's appreciate and protect the precious biodiversity of our local bush patches for generations to come.
This workshop is hosted by the Town of Bassendean in partnership with Switch Your Thinking.
