ANZAC Day 2024
Past Event
ANZAC Day is one of Australia’s most important national occasions.
It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.
Although the Gallipoli campaign failed in its military objectives, the actions of Australian and New Zealand forces during the campaign left a powerful legacy.
What became known as the “Anzac legend” became an important part of the identity of both nations, shaping the ways in which they viewed both their past and future military conflicts.
The ANZAC Day March and Service has been organised by the Eastern Regional Sub Branch of the RSL, supported by the Town of Bassendean.
- 10.30am - Parade participants assemble on Parker Street, next to the Bassendean hotel
- 10.45am - March commences to BIC Reserve
- 11am - Service to commemorate ANZAC Day at the Bassendean War Memorial, BIC Reserve
After the service, all are welcome to join the RSL at 10 Kenny Street for food, drinks and a live band (cash only venue).
If groups have already registered, they will be contacted to lay a wreath. To register, please email [email protected]
