About the team

The Town’s Infrastructure and Sustainability directorate is dedicated to high standards of service delivery for the community. We contribute to the Town’s strategic objectives through the protection, enhancement and development of the Town’s assets, infrastructure and natural environment. We achieve this through a continuous improvement approach, driving a safety-first culture, and applying best practice.

About the role

The role will give the successful applicant an opportunity to:

• Work with other Branches and Directorates to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Liaise with Government Departments, Statutory Authorities and consultants / contractors.
• Assist in developing project plans and estimates for capital infrastructure projects.
• Assess and review parking and road traffic safety related matters, reports and makes recommendations for appropriate treatment.
• Provide timely and best practice engineering technical advice on road safety and other engineering projects.
• Review issued building permits for any Infrastructure identifiable conditions or permits.
• Coordinate Traffic Count Program, engage and coordinate contractors to complete required traffic counts and update register.

About you

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience in a civil engineering, traffic or related technical role delivering engineering solutions in the context of the position requirements.
• Demonstrated research abilities and innovative thinking to contribute and apply high level conceptual and analytical problem-solving skills in order to manage multiple relationships and deliver creative solutions to civil engineering matters.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse range of people with the aim of meeting customer needs, expectations and business goals.
• Proven ability to prioritise, monitor and coordinate personal workload, with minimal supervision and within specified timeframes.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to relay information, to influence others and to effectively resolve conflicts.
• Possession of relevant tertiary qualification in civil engineering or equivalent experience.
• Specialist engineering software experience and knowledge (e.g. SIDRA, etc.)
• Worksite Traffic Management accreditation
• Computer skills in MS Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel.
• A current ‘C’ Class WA Drivers Licence.
• National Police Clearance

Salary and Benefits

This Permanent, full-time position attracts an annual salary up to $102,430.00 plus superannuation.

The Town also offers up to 4% additional superannuation (conditions apply), 17.5% leave loading, free parking, ongoing training and professional development, and up to two additional leave days per calendar year.

Working Hours

This is a permanent Full-time role, 76 hours a fortnight, Monday to Friday. Flexibility options, hybrid work and variable start/finish times are options and may be negotiated for this role.
