About the Team

The Town's Planning and Regulation department encompasses the  Planning, Building, Environmental Health and Ranger Services, responsible for administration of the Town's Local Planning Scheme, Local Laws and state legislation

 About the role

The Administrative officer position will be responsible for:

  • The provision of administrative support to the Planning and Regulation directorate.
  • Assisting Ranger services in maintaining animal registrations, management of residential parking permits, annual fire compliance letters, processing infringement notices, including reminder notices.
  • Providing support where required towards the formulation of Council reports, briefing papers, business cases, quarterly reporting, and update databases.
  • Undertaking any other duties as directed by the Manager of Planning and Regulation or Director of Community and Place

About you

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in an administrative role, preferable in the Local Government sector.
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills with ability to communicate with customers at all levels and from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and judgement to solve problems as they occur.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to work in a team environment in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Sound literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Microsoft Office suite including MS outlook.
  • Demonstrated commitment to punctuality and reliability in accordance with the agreed working hours of the position.
  • C class drivers license.

 Salary and Benefits

 This Part time, permanent role attracts a salary of $ 72,939 - $77,587 pro rata per annum + superannuation.

The Town also offers up to 5% additional superannuation (conditions apply), 17.5% leave loading, free parking, ongoing training and professional development, and up to two additional leave days per calendar year.

Working Hours

The position is part time, 45.6 hours a fortnight, with flexibility in the days / hours worked.

Flexibility options such as condensed hours, hybrid work and variable start/finish times may be negotiated for this role.
