Yerrigan on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people. About the Team

The Town’s Sustainability and Environment unit develops, manages and implements plans to reduce and effectively manage waste, improve the natural environment and provide leadership in sustainable practices and climate action. We achieve this through active consultation, innovative approaches and evidence-based methods.

 

About the role

The Town is seeking a permanent part time Sustainability Officer who will play a key role in facilitating the delivery of sustainability strategies, projects and initiatives for Town operations and the community.

The role will effectively collaborate with stakeholders in identifying strategic priorities and targets for environmental sustainability.

The position will work on strategic, operational and administration duties under the direction of Executive Manager Sustainability and Environment

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in sustainability, resource/ environmental management or a similar field (essential)
  • Computer literacy skills, with the ability to undertake electronic data analysis
    and reporting (essential)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders (essential)
  • Current ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence (essential)
  • Possession of, or progress towards tertiary qualifications in Environmental
    Science, Sustainable Development or related discipline (Desirable)
  • Experience in development, implementation and review of sustainability targets and strategies (Desirable)

Salary and Benefits

This Permanent part time position attracts a salary of $72,939 - $84,383.74 per annum, pro rata plus superannuation.

The Town also offers up to 5% additional superannuation (conditions apply), free parking, ongoing training and professional development, and up to two additional leave days per calendar year.

 

Working Hours

The position is a permanent part-time position, 48 hours per fortnight with required days and hours as: Tuesday (8 hours) and any combination of hours from Wednesday to Friday.
