About the team

The Town’s Infrastructure and Sustainability Directorate is dedicated to high standards of service delivery for the community. We contribute to the Town’s strategic objectives through the protection, enhancement and development of the Town’s assets, infrastructure and natural environment. We achieve this through a continuous improvement approach and applying best practice.

 

About the role

The Manager Engineering and Assets drives a commercially sustainable approach to the lifecycle management of the Town’s assets, provides leadership and expertise in engineering design, transport and project management to deliver high quality outcomes.

 

About you

The Town is seeking a qualified Civil Engineer to fill this new leadership role. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive and diverse experience in civil engineering and engineering design, traffic, primarily in the areas of roads and drainage and the provision of public infrastructure including buildings, structures and fleet.
  • Proven demonstrable experience in working on strategic improvement initiatives in the engineering discipline.
  • Extensive knowledge of sustainable asset management, with a high-level understanding of the Local Government Act 1995 and its requirements for strategic asset management.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a diverse range of strategic or operational asset management issues, including asset planning, design, construction or maintenance.
  • Be a workplace health and safety leader applying a safety-first approach to their everyday work and demonstrating the ability to embed safety-first ways of working into teams

Salary and Benefits

This full-time, permanent role attracts a salary of $ 109,000 - $ 115,000 per annum plus superannuation + $13,000 Vehicle allowance per annum

The Town also offers up to 5% additional superannuation (conditions apply), 17.5% leave loading, free parking, ongoing training and professional development, and up to two additional leave days per calendar year.

 

Working Hours

The position is full-time, 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexibility options such as condensed hours (19-day month), hybrid work and variable start/finish times are options and may be negotiated for this role.
