About the Team
The Town’s Infrastructure and Sustainability directorate is dedicated to high standards of service delivery for the community. We contribute to the Town’s strategic objectives through the protection, enhancement and development of the Town’s assets, infrastructure and natural environment. We achieve this through a continuous improvement approach, driving a safety-first culture, and applying best practice.
About the role
The Mechanic / Workshop Officer position will be responsible for:
- Assisting with implementing fleet servicing and maintenance programs for the Town’s fleet, plant and equipment.
- Prioritising, arranging and/or undertaking daily mechanical requirements including reactive works.
- Providing support in the daily operations of the Town’s Depot.
About you
The ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrated industry experience performing a similar role.
- Possession of Tertiary or Trade qualifications in mechanics.
- ‘C’ Class WA Drivers Licence.
- ‘HR’ Class WA Drivers Licence (Desirable)

Salary and Benefits
This Part time, permanent role attracts a salary of MEU Level 5, $69,539 - $70,511 pro rata per annum plus superannuation.
The Town also offers up to 4% additional superannuation (conditions apply), 17.5% leave loading, free parking, ongoing training and professional development, and up to two additional leave days per calendar year.
Working Hours
The position is part time, 51 hours a fortnight, 8.5 hours a day, rostered for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week.
