ATCO Gas will soon begin important works to installation of new polyethylene (PE) mains to replace the existing PVC main within the Town of Bassendean, as part of ATCO’s ongoing work towards creating a network with net zero emissions by 2050. ATCO will inform impacted residents by letter, and advance notice of the works will be provided in the ECHO newspaper.
ATCO Gas will soon be replacing the existing PVC gas mains with new polyethylene (PE) mains in several locations in Bassendean. This upgrade is part of ATCO’s commitment to achieving a net zero emissions gas network by 2050. Impacted residents will receive a notification letter, and the works will also be announced in the ECHO newspaper.
Timeline:
The works will begin in October 2024 and are expected to continue until March 2025.
Location:
The project will take place on Reid Street, Whitfield Street, West Road, Villiers Street, Bassendean Parade, Deakin Street, Parnell Parade, Barton Parade and Watson Street in Bassendean.
What to Expect:
- The gas supply may be temporarily interrupted between 8 am and 4 pm for short periods.
- Any rectification works required post the upgrade will be completed by ATCO Gas within 15 working days after completion of the project. Gas supply will be reinstated in the interim.
