On Wednesday 28 February, eager young minds from St Michael’s School’s year four class visited the Town of Bassendean’s council chamber for an immersive learning experience.
Led by CEO Cameron Woods and Manager Governance & Strategy Joanne Burges, the students delved into the intricacies of local government responsibilities. The students posed interesting questions and gained valuable insights into the operation of their community.
A highlight of the visit was a mock council meeting, where students assumed the roles of councillors, directors, and members of the public, mirroring real-world decision-making processes.
The visit was enjoyable for all, and the Town welcomes future opportunities to help educate our young residents.
