Bassendean Environment Plan

The Town of Bassendean’s Environment Plan has been developed through a consultative process with the community, Councillors and Town staff to incorporate environmental issues relevant to the area.

The Environment Plan is based on key themes related to:

• Biodiversity and Reserve Management;

• Water Resources;

• Built Environment;

• Waste Management;

• Air Quality;

• Energy Use and Greenhouse Effect;

• Community Participation; and

• Sustainability.

The Environment Plan provides a strategic framework targeting key areas related to improved environmental management outcomes, more effective partnerships with the community and other stakeholders and increased activity in a range of strategy areas. Through the implementation of actions, it will be possible for the Town of Bassendean to take a leadership role in environmental issues, with the opportunity to incorporate sound environmental management as an organisational value and core business activity.
